What To Do If Dish Satellite Does Not Provide Minimum Download And Upload Speeds

I'k not sure if I can requite you a definitive answer, only when I outset joined Xbox Live I had satalite internet and for playing multiplayer games it was alright, but when it came to downloading updates or market place items information technology was increadbily slow and that's having the xbox continued through the cablevision and not wifi.

-

So I beleive it would definitley be usable, simply now I have adsl-two hooked upward through the copper line every bit we don't have fibre optics nonetheless and I would never become back to satalite once more.

-

And so I guess IMO using satalite is a sub-par experience.

Hello gamer

Gaming online requires a smooth connexion to keep play enjoyable and online play with satellite internet will be almost incommunicable because of the high latency of satellite connections. Your download speeds might exist very high, just to upload data, yous still need to use a phone line. Xbox Alive requires that yous exist able to download and upload data at broadband speeds, which is why Microsoft insists on stable connections capable of loftier speed.

Hello SKIman182,

  1. Compare your speed exam results to the minimum requirements listed below. We recommend the following speeds as minimum requirements for the best connection experience:
Online gaming SD video streaming Hard disk drive video streaming
Download speed

three megabits
per second

1 megabit
per second

three.five megabits
per 2d

Upload speed

v megabits
per second

N/A N/A
Ping

Less than
150 milliseconds

Less than
150 milliseconds

Less than
150 milliseconds

Please keep in mind that these are the minimum requirements in guild for a game or app to have a "Certified" feel. The higher your connexion speed, the meliorate your feel will exist.

I've personally had DISH Network Internet and it was the worst ever when it came to playing on Xbox Alive. Call up whatever your ISP is, y'all have to take into consideration all of your devices that volition be sharing a connection on your family unit netowork With that beingness said, DISH Network only offering you 6mbs will only be a good downloading speed for your Xbox if it's the only matter operating on your network. One time that connection becomes a shared connexion with your other lifestyle devices (smartphone, tablet, desktop, laptop, etc.....) it will spit that 6mbs amongst them.

I promise this helps

Well, I am unlucky plenty to have internet via dishnet.  the xbox currently wont connect to xboxlive or download ANYTHING.  No updates, no dlc packs, NOTHING.  it was installed 2 months ago.  they are sending a tech because there is some kind of problem, but its going to toll and boosted $95 an hr.

So far Windstream is useless as is Dish. Used to have wild blue due south-isp and downloads werent a problem.

dish as an isp is the worst setup always.

The issue isn't the speed, as they will offer you a size that sounds skilful, withal information technology'south the fourth dimension between getting the signal and sending the bespeak.  If you are sending to a satellite information technology has to move throw everything in the air, including clouds... Meaning connections will cutting in and out during storms, even a hazy solar day can cause massive lag.

While you might be able to play some what, yous are going to find it to be crazy laggy like a 3g connexion.  For a skillful experience y'all'll want Cable or DSL cyberspace which will usually have less than a 150 latency (the time information technology takes to send a packet and receive information technology back).  The latency is a huge issue, the numbers for download and upload are of import, nonetheless the time it takes to send and receive is more important.

We can't really requite y'all any details out of "it'southward probable to be laggy, and isn't going to be reliaable".  Yous'd have to test your area with the connection and come across how it works, but once more i'd look into Cable or DSL. If you can't get either of these or other hard lined options, you'll likely find online gaming isn't going to work for you.

To be honest, using the dish Network at any and all speeds does non work very skillful. Lag all the time. I hate information technology just I own't moving to the city just to play Xbox. I can only wish for a cable type connection someday.
